May 2013 Continued

RGD7 Style body now ready.
Seen below with RB handle, tilt jack and standard fixed bridge which can be changed to a Hipshot 7.

The pickup routes can be changed to fit BKP or direct mounted DiMarzios in any combination.
This RGD style of body contouring can be used on all other Ibanez style body shapes, all the shapes are different in subtle ways the RGA8, the 2228 the AANJ Universe, the square neck UV to the RG's they're all different shapes but this general contouring can be made to work on any of the other bodies. It can even be made more aggressive in key areas to make playing your guitar far more ergonomic. Why leave wood in your way?

As you can see there is still some sanding to be done, but the lions share is complete.

Please take a look at the JPM7 Project HERE is the build thread.

rear strat style body
I have recently changed my strat style body template so that the rear of the guitar has a recess where a cavity cover can hide the
rear trem working thus having a smooth back to the guitar unlike fender. Warmoth recess the lower section but don't do the trem area. This to me is crazy as the standard covers meet. So why have one 3mm proud piece of plastic and one routed in 3mm? I have opted to make the standard cover slightly smaller and thus leave a 6mm gap in between both areas and have one height to the back of my bodies.

An interesting picture that I will not explain just look closely.

A one piece Limba strat style body. Tilt jack option

rga8 neck pocket fit
Here is a neck pocket fit check on a RGA8 body. NO glue NO screws or tape just a good tight fit.

Due to the vagaries of wooden products you need both a neck and  a body to make things this accurate.
Wood expands and contracts dependent on it’s environment.

I will add more as the month goes by providing I have time.

RGD style HIPSHOT 7 nearing completion.

It's also getting a tilt jack and maybe a handle as I have a propensity to throw them in where they're not wanted, but regardless of what you think
of them having never had one? They do serve a purpose and that's getting a good hold of your guitar when you're not playing it and you're
having to move around and in this capacity they're great. MORE TO FOLLOW.

After having the RGD body I have taken to adding several rear cut to the lower horns on models as they do aid in fretboard access.
Here are a few pictures of different Ideas, you can add these to any of the bodies I make and I will blend them into the guitars shapes whilst maintaining the illusion
of the guitar not changing from the front view.
